Masters

This section explains a lot of important stuff.

NFT
What’s the deal with NFT and why is it a thing? Well, that’s a great question with a multi-faceted answer. First things first, in case you were wondering NFT stands for Not For Trade.
“But why?” you may ask, “whyyyy?”
Again, good question. It may seem really frustrating to you that NFT dates are a thing, but there is a very good reason for their existence. It all has to do with Masters.
Master
A Master is one of the kindest, bravest, gentlest, sexiest people you will ever meet. They are the people who go out there and film the shows you so desperately want to see.

Now you may ask, “but how do they get the money to go and film shows for us in the first place?”
Well that’s simple! When a master films a show, they put it up for sale, and ask that those who buy the video don’t trade it out until a certain date (the NFT date) has passed. This is so they can make their money back and go out to film even more shows and keep our community alive. They often use this money to invest in better recording equipment, better seats for better angles, and ticket costs.

However, some people disrespect these NFT dates. This is behavior is very much despised in the community, because it prevents the master from earning anything from going out there and risk getting arrested so you can enjoy yourself. A lot of traders, most of them even, respect the NFT dates. Some traders will even refuse to trade with you if you disrespect the NFT dates, because they understand how important Masters are to the community. Buying a video from a master is the best way to make sure they go and film more videos in the future. If you don’t want to buy something or have no money, then just want until after the NFT date has passed, THEN trade for your want. It’s the least you can do.

An essential point that must be understood is that there is a very small handful of people who record bootlegs. They deserve our respect. If they are disrespected, they will leave, and our community will die. There are very few video masters still active. Most of the prominent ones have already left/stopped recording/gone on hiatus (largely because of people disrespecting NFT).

Some Masters mark a video/audio as permanently NFT, and some masters trade their stuff out instead of selling it. If you want to acquire the permanently NFT video/audio, ask the person who has it who the master is, and get it from the master instead. In any case, always follow the Master’s rules about things. We respect Masters in this community because without them, our community would not exist.

The term Master is also used to refer to the original copy ("master copy") of a video/audio. If a video is someone's master, then that person is the one who has the original copy.
