Types of Traders

Snail Mail
This trader burns files (VOB and small files are the most common) onto Discs, and trades with others by mailing the Discs. Some traders are exclusively snail mail traders. If this is the case, it will usually be listed somewhere on their list.
Electric Eelmail
Okay, I totally made the name Eelmail up. The community has no real name for this type of trading, and I wanted to continue with the animal theme. Anyway, Eelmailers are traders who trade through email. They upload their files to a Hosting Site and exchange download links. After that, they either download the files and store them somewhere, or they hold on to the links without downloading them, and re-trade the links. Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages.
  • Downloading files ensures that you will never loose them, however space will quickly become an issue as your collection grows. People sometimes buy external hard drives for more space. Beware of your hard drives crashing though.
  • Keeping your videos in the cloud won’t take up your computer’s space, but beware. Megaupload was once a proud hosting site, until it got seized by the FBI. Many traders lost their entire collections that day. Dead links will also become a major problem for you. There’s just no guarantee your files will stay where you want them to.
Only for the Wantllabies
I know I'm forcing the animal names. These traders only trade for their wants. If you don't have one of their wants, don't mail them. But what if they have something you really want? First, search to see if anyone else has your want. If that fails, try to trade someone else for one of the Wantllaby's wants, then trade the Wantllaby. If you literally cannot find any of the Wantllaby's wants, then send them a very polite email explaining your situation and ask for a trade. Don't be angry if they don't reply to you/refuse your trade request. Usually though, people will take pity on you if they see you really tried all the other options. You might get lucky!
